Using a harmonica holder

Harmonica holders (also called racks), like the On-Stage Stands IHH1020, provide hands-free playing and are essential for solo acoustic performances. Keeping sufficient pressure between your mouth and the harmonica is vital, as bad positioning will kill your articulation and tone. To start with, position your harp holder so that the 4-hole is directly under your nose. Then play a few notes. Be sure that you can comfortably reach all the notes you use without cranking your neck. Once you're satisfied with that, loosen the rack's wing nuts and move your harmonica so it's close enough to reach with your mouth without straining, but far enough that you can turn away and sing. Tighten the wing nuts, and you're good to go!
