For years, if you were looking for accessible studio- and tour-quality microphones, Sterling Audio has been an excellent source for extraordinary value. Continuing in that tradition, the Sterling Audio H224 2x4 USB audio interface provides a solid center to your home or portable recording setup, with metering options you usually don't find at this level. The bundled software, along with your computer, gets you recording right out of the box.
Like many legendary studio consoles, the H224 features Class-A discrete components and studio-quality audio converters. With up to 65dB of available gain, the Sterling Audio H224 provides crystal-clear sound for every mic. Each mic preamp has a dedicated pad and high-pass filter, +48V phantom power and is switchable from mic to line level, making it easy to hook up more of your gear. Metering is simple and easy to read with separate metering for inputs and outputs, so you always know what you’re seeing (and hearing).
The H224 USB audio interface gets its name from its versatile I/O (input/output) configuration. In addition to the pair of balanced combination XLR/1/4" TRS inputs (that’s the first “2”), there are a pair of dedicated 1/4" TS instrument inputs that are optimized to match the output impedance of your favorite guitars and basses (the second “2”). Then, there are four line-level outputs (the final “4”) that expand the flexibility of the H224 to accommodate many different production workflows, from re-amping to multiple monitor setups. A direct switch enables recording with zero-latency monitoring. There are also dedicated 5-pin MIDI connections for connections with controllers, synths and any other MIDI-enabled devices.
Because the Sterling Audio H224 USB audio interface is bus-powered and class-compliant, it does not require an external power supply. This, in conjunction with its compact form factor and light weight, makes it extremely portable, while a robust metal enclosure adds durability. It’s not only compatible with virtually every laptop, but many tablets as well. So, you never need to be at a loss when inspiration strikes.
Sterling Audio knows you want to get started recording as soon as possible, so they’ve included an impressive collection of audio software with the H224 USB interface. This bundle includes Bitwig Studio 8-Track DAW (digital audio workstation), Two notes Engineering’s Wall of Sound guitar and bass amp, cabinet and microphone modeling plug-in, the Steven Slate All-Access plug-in package and more.
